UP Board has made a big change in the online registration of students of class 9th to 12th. Now Aadhar number will be required for registration. Actually, four days ago on the orders of the administration U.P Board changed its website and made Aadhaar mandatory. Now due to this change, those students are going to face a lot of trouble, who do not have Aadhar number. It is worth noting here that till last year Aadhaar was not mandatory. Students had the option to fill in the Aadhaar number, but it was optional.
At the same time, due to this change made by the board four days ago, the problems of those students of class 9th and 11th, who do not have Aadhar card, have increased. Those students taking admission in class 10th and 12th are also very upset, who do not have Aadhaar. The surprising thing here is that this decision has been taken by the board four days ago. But so far nothing has been said on this from any official of the UP Board. There is also a risk of students missing out on their studies. Because of this, there is also criticism regarding this decision.
Supreme Court gave a big decision regarding Aadhaar
Actually, there are thousands of such schools associated with the UP Board, where no kind of fund is going. Most of these schools are in rural areas, where there is a large number of students who do not have Aadhar card. In such a situation, if the form of these students is not accepted, then their studies are going to be interrupted. The point to be noted here is that children cannot be kept away from studies if they do not have an Aadhar card. It is not legal to do so. Giving a big decision in September 2018, the Supreme Court had declared it constitutional with a majority.
However, the apex court in its judgment held the linking of Aadhaar with bank account or phone number as unconstitutional. Along with this, the provisions related to it were canceled. The UP Board has not made any changes in its Act before making Aadhaar mandatory for registration. For this reason it is not legally permissible to do so.
