IIT Madras: Indian Institute of Technology, Madras (IIT Madras) is giving admission on the basis of GATE 2023 Score. Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) department of IIT Madras will give admission in its courses on the basis of GATE score. Admission to the two-year Master’s program in Development Studies, English and Economics will be done on the basis of GATE score. Students with a valid GATE score in subject code-XH (Humanities and Social Sciences) can apply for admission.

Students desirous of admission in IIT Madras can apply for admission till 7th April. For admission, students have to visit the official website hss.iitm.ac.in. Know the details of the course

According to the course details shared by IIT Madras, students need to complete at least 200 credits to be eligible for the MA degree. There will be 25 seats for Indian students in each stream, while supernumerary seats will be available for foreign students. As per the guidelines of the institute, students of every stream will have the option to upgrade to PhD programme.

Talking about the MA programme, Professor Jyotirmoy Tripathi, Head, HSS Department, IIT Madras, said, “Historically, we have been at the forefront of liberal arts degree awarding IITs.” “Keeping in view the changing needs of the times, we have restructured our program to cater to that segment of students who want to pursue a career that demands creativity,” he added.
