Whereas, the revenue from the sale of diesel is expected to decrease by Rs 125 crore.

On Saturday itself, the central government had decided to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel. Excise duty on petrol has been cut by Rs 8 per liter and excise duty on diesel by Rs 6 per liter.

The central government had appealed to the states

Along with this, the central government had also requested to cut the VAT at the local level to give more relief to the customers.

Let us tell you that while giving relief, the Central Government had announced reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel on Saturday and appealed to the states to bring relief to the people of their state by cutting Value Added Tax (VAT).

After this, the Ashok Gehlot government of Rajasthan, taking action on this appeal, announced a reduction in VAT by Rs 2.48 per liter on petrol and Rs 1.16 per liter on diesel in his state. Petrol has become cheaper by Rs 10.48 and diesel by Rs 7.16 per liter in Rajasthan after the double reduction made by the Center and the state. The announcement of reduction in VAT was made by the Chief Minister of the state Ashok Gehlot himself by tweeting.

At the same time, the Kerala government had announced a reduction of Rs 2.41 and Rs 1.36 in state tax on petrol and diesel. After this decision of the state government, the oil prices had come down here.
