After waiving the custom duty, the government decided to waive the GST on Kovid Relief Material.

The government has decided not to take IGST on some products related to Corona till June 30, 2021. An order has been issued by the Finance Ministry regarding this. It said that many representations outside India had appealed to the government to forgive the IGST on the Covid-19 relief material. Custom duty has already been waived.

NGOs, which are supporting companies in Kovid Crisis, said that IGST should be forgiven for the help they are getting from outside for free. The central government has announced an adhoc exemption on Monday. According to this, if any good related to the foreigner’s Kovid relief comes for free delivery, then IGST will not be imposed on it.

IGST relief on import of free delivery goods

The order issued by the government said that if any goods have already been imported, but the clearance has not been done by 3 May, then it will also get relief from IGST.
