After Kohli had decided to step down from the captaincy of this format after the T20 World Cup 2021, the BCCI handed over the responsibility to opener Rohit Sharma. Virat Kohli never let his form fall: Ajit Agarkar

Talking on Star Sports’ show Game Plan, Ajit Agarkar said,

“I don’t think it will be any different for the batsman, I think the most important thing about Virat Kohli was that when he was the captain, he didn’t let the form fall. Despite the added pressure, his runs never stopped. This did not happen with Virat Kohli, it shows his greatness as a captain.

he adds,

“So now after the pressure of captaincy is removed, Kohli has two options, either he himself bats aggressively or bats till the end and the batsmen at the other end play aggressively. I think it is for the team management to decide but Virat Kohli’s runs are very important for India. Every time he scores a run, India always wins. So his form is also important for India’s success.

Suryakumar Yadav is better than Shreyas Iyer: Ajit Agarkar

Virat Kohli

Talking about Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav, Agarkar said,

“Both are very good players, both are good strikers of the ball. I think Suryakumar Yadav is more versatile if you need him to bat a bit more. Suryakumar has more batting ability than Shreyas Iyer. Shreyas Iyer is a brilliant player who can strike the ball well, but at the moment, if I have to pick one of the two, it will be Suryakumar Yadav. Because he is just in better form, it seems he has a lot to offer.”
