The pair of Gayatri and Trisa Jolly reached the semi-finals of the All England Championship last year as well. Although last time she got a wild card entry, this time she directly became a part of the main draw.
India’s challenge at the All England Badminton Championships is now being led by Kevar Trisa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand. In the women’s doubles category, the pair of Trisa and Gayatri has reached the semi-finals. The world number 17 Indian pair defeated China’s Li Wen Mei and Liu Xuan Xuan 21-14, 18-21, 21-12 in a match that lasted 64 minutes. (PTI)
This is the second time when the pair of Trisa and Gayatri reached the semi-finals of this tournament. Last time she failed to make it to the finals. Last time she came in the tournament as a wild card. They will now face either Indonesia’s eighth seeds Apriyani Rahayu and Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti or Korea’s Baek Ha Na and Lee So Hee. (PTI)
