Amjad Khan, who was known all over the world for playing the iconic role of Gabbar Singh in ‘Sholay’, breathed his last on 27 July 1992 at the age of 51.

From talking about the tragic demise of his father, to dealing with the mental trauma following the demise of Amjad battling financial crisis, Shadab made some shocking revelations. Speaking to Etimes TV, Shadab spoke about how it was on the financial front after Amjad Khan’s demise and revealed that the makers owed his father Rs 1 crore 25 lakh. But when he died, no one came forward to pay.
A gangster offered to help Shadab Khan’s family
Shadab Khan said, “My father had a habit of helping people and giving a lot of money. The producers came home and told them stories, promising them the keys to their homes. He looked through them but didn’t care about the money. He also kept his money with friends and not with banks. When he died, the producers owed him Rs 1 crore 25 lakh. But none of the lot came forward to make the payment. Some people took loan from him and a handful returned it but imagine how much money we lost which was ours.
The ‘Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat’ actor also recalled an incident when a gangster from the Middle East called and offered to help him. He shared that about four months after his father’s death, a gangster called and said that he wanted to talk to his mother.
Shadab further said that, he told her that he had heard from unconfirmed sources that the industry owed her (late) husband Rs 1 crore 25 lakh. She further said that he would give her that amount in 3 days because her husband was a good person. My mother flatly refused and said that her husband never took favors from the underworld.
