Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) class 12th examinations will be conducted in July-August. The state board gave this information on Wednesday. These examinations were to start from May 12, but due to the second wave of Kovid-19, they had to be postponed indefinitely.
AHSEC’s examination controller Pankaj Borthakur wrote a letter to all the in-charges of the examination centers of the state that the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council has decided to conduct the 12th examinations in July/August 2021.
Earlier, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu had said that the students would be given the option of the paper and they would not have to appear for all the papers. He said that all examination invigilators and staff members would be vaccinated. The minister said that the examination process will end by August 15.
HSLC or class 10 board exams are conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Assam (SEBA). At the same time, HS board exams are conducted under the Assam Council of Higher Secondary Education (AHSEC).
At the same time, the students of Assam Board have been demanding cancellation of 10th and 12th examinations for the last several days. Students of Assam are campaigning on Twitter with hashtags like #WakeUpSEBAAHSEC, #CancelAssamBoardExams and #CancelAssamBoardExam to register a protest.
Meanwhile, after 3,751 new cases of infection were reported in Assam on Wednesday, the total number of infected people increased to 4,46, 445, while the total death toll rose to 3,793 after 55 more people died. At present 48,499 patients are under treatment in the state.
