Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released the list of bank holidays for the month of October. According to the RBI holiday calendar, banks will be closed for a total of 21 days during this month. These include all Sundays and second and fourth Saturdays of the month. The central bank prepares a list of holidays for every month.

These holidays are notified under three categories. These are three categories – Negotiable Instruments Act, Holiday, Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday and Banks Closing of Accounts. Banks in the country will also remain closed on some regional festivals, including Durga Puja, Karva Chauth and Deepawali.

According to the RBI holiday calendar, there will be no business for 15 days in banks in October due to regional holidays. Therefore, you should plan all your business related to the bank accordingly. It should also be noted that during these holidays, facilities like online banking and UPI will not be affected even if the branches of the bank are closed as per the rules.
