Earlier, the BCCI had decided to postpone several domestic tournaments, including the Ranji Trophy, Senior Women’s T20 League and Col CK Nayudu Trophy. ‘Unfortunately, corona cases are being seen inside the team as well and we have been forced to postpone the knockout matches taking care of everyone’s health and safety. When the cases subside and the situation improves, then we will organize the match of the knockout stage of the tournament. Time will be taken for this.
Teams of Mumbai, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Bengal, Haryana and Maharashtra have reached the quarter finals of Cooch Behar Trophy. On the basis of this, these matches were to be played from January 11. According to the news coming from Cricbuzz, cases of corona have been found in many teams participating in this tournament. A player of the Mumbai team, which reached the quarter-finals, has also been found infected.
5 players and 1 support staff are being claimed to be infected
Such cases have also been seen in Saurashtra team. However, the Saurashtra team had to face defeat from Mumbai in the pre-quarterfinals. Earlier, the BCCI and the Maharashtra Cricket Association had claimed that every effort would be made to continue the Cooch Behar Trophy. But, the case from the teams has ruined the whole plan.
Meanwhile, media reports quoting a BCCI official have claimed that after receiving corona cases in many teams, the board has decided to postpone it. There are reports that in the Mumbai team itself, 5 players and a support staff member have been infected with Corona.
