The board may soon hold a meeting to increase the fees of domestic cricketers
Meanwhile, there are reports that the salary of domestic cricketers can be increased before Diwali. In the meeting of the BCCI Apex Council on September 20, the match fee of domestic cricketers can be increased by about 40 percent. It is also being said that, the board can also award central contracts to domestic cricketers in collaboration with state bodies. According to a report quoted by Sportstar, the salary of cricketers playing First Class and List A can be increased to Rs 50000.
So the cricketers playing in T20 format can get Rs 25000. Till now players get Rs 35000 per day for Ranji Trophy and Rs 35,000 in Vijay Hazare as match fee. Players participating in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament get Rs 17,500 per match. Reserve players get 50 percent salary of match fees.
Fees of female players may also increase by 25 to 40 percent
After taking over the post of BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly announced a central contract in the year 2019. In such a situation, there is hope that now it can be made a reality. After this news came to the fore, it can be said that now women cricketers will also be speculating about the increase in match fees. At present, women cricketers are paid Rs 12,500 per ODI and Rs 6250 for T20.
It is expected that the match fees of women players may also increase by 25 to 40 percent. At the same time, domestic cricketers who could not be a part of Ranji Trophy due to Corona in the last season are also expected to get minimum 50 percent compensation of match fees. Its approval can be given by the BCCI Apex Council. In this regard, a BCCI source has given big information on the condition of anonymity.
This amount is paid to the players
Talking to PTI about this, the source said that,
“There was some debate as to whether only players participating in the 2019-20 season would be considered or at least players from the last two seasons.”
The final decision is to be taken by BCCI President Ganguly and Secretary Jay Shah. Most of the board members believe that 50 per cent compensation should be given to the players.
Currently playing Ranji Trophy players who are included in the playing 11. He is given Rs 35,000 every day during the match. If the match goes on for four days, then the players earn 1.4 lakh rupees. This means that players can get a compensation amount of Rs 70,000 for a match.
