Union Minister Anurag Thakur inaugurated the India Pavilion at Cannes. During this, he made a big announcement to promote the shooting of foreign films in India.
Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting of India Anurag Thakur (Anurag Thakur) is currently representing the country at the Cannes Film Festival. In his presence, the country has been awarded the “Country of Honor” at Cannes. Today, on the second day of Cannes, Union Minister Anurag Thakur announced an amount of up to 2.5 crores to encourage the shooting of foreign films in India. He also inaugurated the India Pavilion at Cannes and along with the Indian delegation, Anurag Thakur unveiled the poster of the 53rd IFFI Goa to be held in India.

In this post Anurag Thakur has shared the video, in which he is saying that “Today at Cannes I am happy to announce an incentive scheme for audio-visual production and shooting of foreign films in India, with 260,000 A cash incentive of up to 30% will be given to these films along with a limit of dollars (2.5 million). Apart from this, if they have 15 percent Indian people in this team, then they will be given another 50 lakh rupees. This announcement of Anurag Thakur has been welcomed by all.
Many actors praised
On this special occasion, many Bollywood actors representing India in international festivals like Cannes were also present. During this, Nawazuddin Siddiqui while praising Anurag Thakur said that “It is a great pleasure that you are taking the initiative about cinema like this. There are many stories in our country which are very local but can do a lot of work at the global level.” Pooja Hegde, Deepika Padukone, R Madhavan and Tamannaah also shared their thoughts. This Cannes festival, which started on May 17, will end on May 28.
India is the world’s largest entertainment industry
Union Minister Anurag Thakur also praised Indian cinema and filmmakers a lot. He said that while on one hand our filmmakers are keeping old stories with utmost care, on the other hand they are adopting new ways to present their story in front of the audience, using new technology. The Indian entertainment industry, producing about 2000 films every year, is the largest entertainment industry in the world.
