Mohd Zahoor Khayyam Hashmi (Mohammad Zahur Khayyam Hashmi) Whom people know by the name of Khayyam. Yeh Hindi cinema (Hindi Cinema) I am a well-known name. He is a music director and composer (Music Director) is referred to as. Khayyam sahib attracted people towards him with his music for more than 70 years. Even today people listen to the songs made by him. He has been one of the songs whose meaning was very meaningful. Those songs were related to the life of reality. Every person used to relate himself to those songs and used to get lost while listening to those songs.
Khayyam Sahib was born as Saondat Hussain in the pre-Partition Punjab of India in Rahon, Nawanshahr district. It used to be Nawanshahr tehsil of Jalandhar district at that time. Khayyam Sahab had learned music at a very young age. It was because of his passion for music that he came to Delhi to learn music. But later he had to go back to his home to complete his education. He did not return to Delhi, but went to the famous Baba Chishti of Lahore to learn music.
Film career started from 1947
Khayyam Sahab started his career as a music composer with the film ‘Romeo and Juliet’ in the year 1947 as a singer. After this film, he never looked back. After this film, he won the hearts of everyone with his excellent singing, music direction and songwriting in many films.
In 2011, he was awarded the Padma Bhushan, the third highest civilian award, by the Government of India. Apart from this, he has also been awarded with many awards. He gave excellent music in many iconic films Kabhi Kabhie and Umrao Jaan. Khayyam Sahab worked in the film industry for almost 4 decades and during this time he gave music in 35 films. It is a very interesting thing about which people may not know that Khayyam Sahab has given music in some films in the name of Sharmaji.
Khayyam sahib gave many memorable music in the late 1970s and early 1980s. In which there are songs like Trishul, Thodi Si Bewafai, Bazaar, Dar, Noori, Nakhuda, Saval, Bepannah, etc.

In his last days, Khayyam sahib was suffering from many diseases. On 28 July 2019, he was admitted to Sujay Hospital in Juhu, Mumbai due to lung infection. He died on 19 August 2019 at 9:30 pm due to cardiac arrest at the age of 92.
