Indian cricket team superstar fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah He has been ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to a back problem. News agency PTI quoted sources in the Board of Control for Cricket in India as saying that the problem of stress fracture in Bumrah’s back has resurfaced, which will take a long time to recover. After the news of Bumrah’s injury, the old statement of former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has come to the fore again, in which he expressed the apprehension that a one-time back injury, can become fatal forever.
Shoaib Akhtar, the world’s fastest bowler, who has himself suffered multiple injuries in his long cricket career, clearly knows how easy it is to get injured as a pace bowler and how difficult it is to recover from it. In such a situation, there is a danger of his apprehension about Jasprit Bumrah’s injury being proved true.
back injury does not leave
Bumrah has been out of the field for the third time in the last three years due to a stress fracture of his back. In such a situation, apparently it has affected his performance also. Last year, in a discussion with a channel regarding Bumrah’s injury and form, Shoaib Akhtar had said shocking things about the Indian pacer’s fitness and his career, which are now being shared again.
Akhtar had said that the kind of action Bumrah has, in that back injury can remain forever. According to Akhtar, “His bowling is dependent on frontal action. Bowlers with this type of action gain speed from their back and shoulders. When a bowler with frontal arm action flies (injured) his back, he doesn’t give up as much as he tries.”
‘Will break in a year’
Giving the example of some former bowlers, the Pakistani legend said that it is necessary to manage Bumrah, otherwise he will be ‘finished’ in a year. Akhtar said,
“I saw (Ian) Bishop, Shane Bond’s back flying. Saw Bumrah too. Bumrah now has to think that I played the match, then went to rehab. Now they have to manage. Now if everyone plays cricket, it will break and end in a year.
bumrah The first two and a half years in his 6-year career, he continued to achieve success without any injury, but since 2019, different injuries have troubled him and so far he has been injured 5 times in three and a half years. Out of this, there has been a problem of stress fracture in the back three times, which has ruled out tournaments like the Asia Cup and now the T20 World Cup.
