Central Government Promotion: The Central Government has passed an order regarding promotion of more than 8000 employees in three Central Secretariat cadres in one go. In this way, this Central Government (Central Government) has become one of the largest orders of mass promotion. Officials said on Thursday that Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh is going to announce this move of the government on Friday. Sources said that many of these promotions got embroiled in litigation due to government employees filing cases against each other.

According to the information received, 327 promotions are to be done on the post of director. 1097 promotions are to be made to the post of Deputy Secretary and 1472 to the post of Section Officer. All of them belong to the Central Secretariat Service. The number of officers promoted in the Central Secretariat Service is 4,734. The massive promotions include officers working in the Central Secretariat Clerical Service and Central Secretariat Stenographer Service to the post of Stenographer, Principal Staff Officer, Clerk and other posts.

Central Secretariat employees are the backbone of ministries and departments

The Central Secretariat Service is one of the administrative civil services, with employees working in Group A and Group B posts. It is the backbone of administrative work in the Ministries and Departments of the Central Government. The officers working here are selected through a competitive examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission. The last time such a massive promotion was announced was in 2019. At that time 4000 officers were promoted in all the three services.

There will be promotion for a total of 8,089 posts.

The promotions this time include 157 Principal Staff Employees of Central Secretariat Stenographer Service, 153 Senior Principal Private Secretaries and 1208 Principal Private Secretaries. The total number of officers promoted in this service is 2966. Altogether 8,089 posts are to be promoted, out of which 727 are reserved for Scheduled Castes and 207 for Scheduled Tribes. At the same time, there are 5,032 unreserved posts.
