In this scheme applicant orphan children are divided into four categories/categories. On the basis of which financial assistance will be provided to them. These four categories are as follows.

First Category- Children who have lost one of their parents during COVID-19 and the surviving parent has surrendered the children.

  • Eligibility- Applicant should be a permanent resident of Chandigarh. Applicant’s age should be less than 18 years. According to the Children who do not have Birth Proof Act 2015, the age of those children should be fixed. Children who are not residents of the Union Territory of Chandigarh will be shifted to the parent state as per Juvenile Justice.
  • financial the gain- Under this scheme, a fixed deposit of ₹ 300000 will be made in the name of the children within 60 days. The amount of which will be given to them after completing 21 years of age. If the children are placed in family based care, this amount will not be given and will be deposited in the bank account of the department to protect their confidentiality.

  • Eligibility- It is mandatory for the applicant to be a permanent resident of Chandigarh. The applicant child must be below 18 years of age. The child must have a birth certificate. Both the parents must have died due to coronavirus infection.

If the child has attained the age of 18 years and is unemployed, then in such case his age will be increased to 21 years.   • Eligibility- The candidate should be a permanent resident of Chandigarh. The age of the candidate should be less than 18 years. The annual income of the applicant’s family should be less than 5 lakhs.

If the child has attained the age of 18 years and is unemployed, then in such case his age will be increased to 21 years.   • Eligibility- The scheme is subject to submission of Aadhar Card/Driving License/Voter ID/Electricity Bill of the parents in the form of residence proof only for the residents of Chandigarh. The eligible child must be below 18 years of age. If the child does not have an age certificate, then the age of that child will be determined on the basis of the provisions prescribed under the Age of Juvenile Justice Act 2015. The applicant child should fall under the category of “child in need of care and protection” as per Section 2(14) of the Juvenile Justice Act 2015.
