Coldplay has postponed its Brazilian show until 2023 as Chris Martin is battling a ‘serious’ lung infection. The band released a statement that read, “With deep regret, we are forced to postpone our upcoming events in Rio de Janeiro and So Paulo until early 2023. because of a serious lung infection Chris Martin He has been asked to take rest for the next three weeks under strict doctor’s orders.”

The group also said that they will soon update the new schedule of their shows in Brazil. It read, “We are working as quickly as possible to lock down the new dates and will move forward with more information in the next few days.”

Prioritizing Chris’s health

The statement further read, “To everyone in Brazil who looked forward to these music concerts, we are extremely sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience and we are extremely grateful for your understanding during this challenging time, Where we need to prioritize Chris’ health. “We expect Chris to return to good health after the scheduled medical leave and we look forward to resuming the tour very soon.”

The band said that we are working to secure the dates in advance and will be back with more information in the coming days. Tickets will be valid for 2023 music concerts and will be refunded where necessary.

Coldplay made its Global Tours debut in Costa Rica in March this year. Their next show will be in Argentina on 25 October, after Martin’s scheduled rest period and with the Tour of Europe leg starting in May 2023.

The Latin America leg of Coldplay’s Global Tours was scheduled to begin at the Estadio Nilton Santos-Engenhao in Rio de Janeiro with two shows on October 11 and October 12. However, no new dates have been confirmed yet. The band has stated that the previously scheduled shows will be “early 2023 and will be announced very soon.”
