Karnataka CET Exam 2022: The Karnataka government has decided to merge the COMED-K UG entrance exam with the Common Entrance Test (CET) from next year.

COMEDK Entrance Test: The Karnataka government has made an important announcement. From next year, the COMED-K UG entrance exam will be merged with the Common Entrance Test (CET). From next year this exam will be conducted at All India level. Admission will be done on the basis of the ranking obtained in the entrance exam. Higher Education Minister CN Ashwath Narayan said that CET to COMEDK ,Karnataka Entrance Test, The modalities to merge with will be worked out as a next step in action. Narayana and Karnataka Unaided Private Engineering College at Vikas Soudha, Bengaluru (College of Engineering) A meeting was held between the representatives of the Association. Many important decisions have been taken in this meeting.

The higher education department capped the fee hike in private engineering colleges to 10 per cent for the current academic year as against 25 per cent demanded by colleges. It has been agreed not to charge any other fee in this meeting. Narayan said the association had demanded a 25 per cent fee hike “as there was no increase in the last two years from 2020-21, but they agreed to a 10 per cent hike.

Prohibition of taking extra fees in colleges

The fee hike is applicable only to those students who have been allotted government seats in private engineering colleges. The representatives of the private colleges assured the minister that they would be with him in the government action against the colleges taking extra fees in any way.

COMED-K UG entrance exam is conducted for admission in various engineering colleges across the country. This exam is taken online. 15% seats are reserved for All India Quota seats. This year the COMED-K UG entrance exam was held on June 19. But from next year this exam will be conducted by merging with CET exam.
