Controversy: Ajay Devgan’s film ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’ was caught in legal trouble, Bappi Lahiri sent notice

The legal notice, sent through Bappi Da’s lawyer S Mandal, said, “The film ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’ has a character named ‘Guppi’ on the lines of our client, who is wearing several gold chains. The character’s name is ‘Guppy’ based on our client which is similar to his name as well as blind and physically similar to our client in person/appearance. It is clear that the personality of our client has been characterized in a derogatory manner. There is a clear attempt on your part to misuse the personality of our client to present a wrong picture of our client to the public at large. It has been said through our client that the portrait…is a derogatory and meaningless way of presenting it.”

The filmmaker gave the answer

The makers of the film, however, said that there is nothing derogatory about the character in the film and that they respect Bappi Da. His legal team is looking into the matter and the producers are also ready to show the film to Bappi Lahiri. Bappi Da has not had a deep connection with controversies. Sometimes one thing came to the fore, as was the film ‘Toonpur Ka Superhero’. He was very simple in nature. And he never wanted to get into controversies.
