The Confederation of All India Traders (CAT) has reported domestic trade in the country as a loss of 6.25 lakh crores in the month of April due to Corona epidemic. The central and state governments also estimate a loss of revenue of about 75 thousand crore rupees in total.

Both retail and wholesale affected
In the month of April, the total domestic business of the country has suffered a loss of about 6.25 lakh crores, in which the retail business has an estimated loss of 4.25 lakh crores and the wholesale trade of about 2 lakh crores. CAT’s National General Secretary Praveen Khandelwal said in a joint statement that, in the month of April, the figure of 52926 deaths in India is taken from the World Health Organization report that the monthly number of deaths due to corona virus disease epidemic in the government It is given to the World Health Organization like other countries.
Kat said that trade loss figures are not only weakening India’s economy but also pointing towards the plight of domestic trade, but for this the death toll from Corona cannot be ignored. 15 day lockdown required
A national lock down is very important to deal strongly with the current situation and this is why CAT has been urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a national lock down in the country since last 15 days. Khandelwal further said that in the present times, the central and state governments should be the priority of protecting people from any kind of kovid infection in order to protect the lives of people and break the chain of kovid infections.
