Solana Mobile has launched the Saga priced at $1000 (approximately Rs 78,000) and pre-orders have started, for which customers will have to pay $100 (approximately Rs 7,800). This will be a refundable amount. The deliveries of the Saga will start next year, ie 2023.
This smartphone will come equipped with Solana blockchain, which will make it easy and secure to transact in Web3. Apart from this, it will also be easy to manage digital assets like NFT along with tokens in this phone.
In a statement to the press release, Anatoly Yakovenko, co-founder of blockchain platform Solana, said, “Around 7 billion (700 million) people around the world use smartphones and more than 100 million (100 million) people use smartphones.” We have digital assets, and both of these numbers will continue to grow.” He also said that “Saga sets a new standard for the Web3 experience on mobile.”
The company has also introduced ‘Solana Mobile Stack’, a framework for Android. This allows developers to create a seamless mobile experience for wallets and apps on Solana, and a “secure element” for private key management. The Solana Mobile Stack SDK is available to developers.
Solana Saga gets a 6.67-inch OLED display. The phone works on Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor and comes equipped with 12GB RAM and 512GB internal storage. The phone gets a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera sensor, coupled with a 12MP Sony IMX373 ultra-wide lens. On the front, a 16MP camera is available for selfie and video calling. It has a rear fingerprint sensor. The phone packs a 4,100mAh battery and supports wireless charging as well.
