The fourth day of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games has started and many big events have taken place. Many players of India are constantly showing their strength. For India, which has won 6 medals in the Games so far, the first part of the fourth day brought some historic successes, while there was disappointment on some fronts. The women of India created history by reaching the finals of lawn ball, so there has been a historic feat in women’s judo as well. However, this time India has got disappointment in weightlifting. Historic Success in Lawn Ball

India has ensured its first medal in lawn ball in the history of CWG. In the Women’s Four event, India’s quartet of Lovely Choubey, Pinky, Nayanmoni Saikia and Rupa Rani Tirkey made it to the finals by surprise. This team defeated their stronger New Zealand team 16-13 in a tough match in the semi-finals. This team will now face South Africa on Tuesday.

In Judo also, India has got good news from women. India’s Sushila Devi has confirmed her medal by winning the semi-finals of 48 kg category. She will now enter the final tonight itself, where she will have her eyes on gold. Apart from Sushila, Vijay Kumar Yadav, Jasleen Singh Saini and Ruchika Tadiyal will enter the bronze medal events.
