He won the gold medal in the men’s heavyweight category with 134.5 points. With this medal of Sudhir, India has got a total of 6 gold in Commonwealth Games 2022. Sudhir lifted a total of 212 kg. Today the whole country is saluting his spirit.

Sudhir, at the age of 4, made a change in his life due to high fever and today on the strength of that courage, Sudhir has put a historic medal in the country’s bag. 28-year-old Sudhir is from Haryana and he belongs to a farmer family. At the age of 4, this star player of India got polio due to high fever. After that his life changed. Sudhir was interested in sports from the beginning, after which he chose powerlifting and started his career in 2013.

He won the gold medal in his first national in 2016. After 2 years, he made his debut at the international level and won the bronze medal in the Asian Para Games in 2018.

Record broken in second attempt

Sudhir lifted 208 kg in his first attempt in the Commonwealth Games 2022 and secured 134.5 points by lifting 212 kg in the second attempt and broke the Commonwealth Games record. Sudhir is the bronze medalist of the Asian Para Games. The whole country is celebrating this success of Sudhir.
