It was under Kotje’s captaincy that Scotland qualified for the T20 World Cup 2022. In this tournament, he defeated the two-time world champion West Indies by 42 runs. In the year 2021, Scotland also made a place in the Super 12 in which Kotje was playing an important role. (Kyle Coetzer Instagram)
Kotje has scored the most runs in ODI format for his country. He has scored 3192 runs in 89 matches. He scored 156 against Bangladesh in the 2015 World Cup. In T20 also, he has scored 1495 runs in 70 matches. (Kyle Coetzer Instagram)
In the year 2020, Kotje was selected as the Associate Cricketer of the Decade (Best Associate Country Cricketer of the Decade). In the same year, Scotland won the ICC CWCL2 trophy.
