DU UG Syllabus 2022: Delhi University’s syllabus is changing, new syllabus got green signal for 19 courses of FYUP

Delhi University FYUP Draft Syllabus: Delhi University has approved the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) and ‘Four-Year Undergraduate Program’ (FYUP) for the academic session 2022-23.

Delhi University FYUP Syllabus: The Standing Committee on Academic Matters of Delhi University on Wednesday passed the draft syllabus for the first semester of 19 four-year undergraduate courses. However, four members of the committee disagreed against the proposal. Delhi University (Delhi University) has approved the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP) and ‘Four-Year Undergraduate Program’ (FYUP) for the academic session 2022-23. In February, the University’s Executive Council (EC) passed the draft Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) prepared in accordance with the NEP for the academic session 2022-23.

Balram Pani, Dean of DU Colleges confirmed this, ‘The draft syllabus prepared by 19 departments has been approved by the Standing Committee of Delhi University.’ He said that the syllabus of other courses will also be passed in the coming days. Pani said, ‘We plan to pass the syllabus of all courses through the standing committee in the next three to four days. We will finalize the FYUP 1st semester syllabus in the next 15 days.

What did the dissenting members say?

The syllabus will be presented to the Academic Council (AC) and the Executive Council (EC) after being approved by the Standing Committee. Four members of the committee namely Rajesh Kumar, Vishwajit Mohanty, Kumar Shantanu and Nidhi Kapoor have opposed the proposal. In fact, dissenting members say that very little time was provided for observation of the syllabus of 19 courses. Because of this there may be procedural mistakes in it. The members said that considering only the contents of the syllabus of the first semester would be a futile exercise.

“Unless we go through all the four years’ papers, it will be impossible to comment on the disjunction, overlapping, continuity and discontinuity of papers in subsequent semesters,” the members said. “There was also a feeling of weakness in the content of the syllabus among the representatives,” he said. But it was not addressed satisfactorily by the authorities.
