e-SHRAM portal: One crore registration in 26 days, you can also apply and get free accidental insurance of 2 lakhs

e-SHRAM portal: Minister of State for Labor and Employment, Rameshwar Teli on Saturday urged the trade unions to extend their full support to spread awareness among the workers of the unorganized sector about the e-Shram portal and said that about one crore people are working on this portal. The workers have already registered. In a program, he said that e-shram cards, Kovid-19 relief scheme, Atal Bimit Vyakti Kalyan Yojana and beedi labor cards were distributed to the workers.

Teli said that in just 26 days, about one crore registrations have been done on the portal. During this, information about this portal was also given to the workers. The Union Minister also appealed to the media to take the information of this portal to every nook and corner of the state. The e-shram portal will register more than 38 crore unorganized workers in the country free of cost and help them in the distribution of social security schemes. Union Labor and Employment Minister Bhupendra Yadav launched the e-shram portal late last month to create and maintain a database of 38 crore workers in the unorganized sector.

Toll free number is 14434

The government has also released the national toll free number – 14434 to help the workers who wish to register on the portal. The purpose of this entire exercise is to integrate the social security schemes of the government. The information available on the portal will also be shared with the departments of the state governments. This portal will help all unorganized sector workers including construction workers, migrant workers, gig and platform workers, street vendors, domestic workers, agricultural workers, milkmen, fishermen, truck drivers.

Accidental insurance of 2 lakh to registered worker

There is also a provision of accident insurance cover of Rs 2 lakh for each registered unorganized worker on the e-shram portal. If a worker registered on the portal meets with an accident, then Rs 2 lakh in case of death or permanent physical disability and Rs 1 lakh in case of partial physical disability.
