Electric scooter will be available on rent in Mumbai for Rs 20, BEST launches new service

The Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) has reportedly started public trials of electric scooters at major bus stops in Mumbai. This service will be useful to the passengers to visit the local market or reach the nearby place easily and for less money. These e-scooter stations are also being set up in commercial and residential areas. The Transport Corporation says that the purpose of starting this service is to find an end-to-end integrated solution for the people of Mumbai.

Through a press release, BEST has claimed that it is the first bus transport operator in India to offer such an integrated last mile connectivity service. This project has been started under partnership with Vogo. For those who do not know, let them know that Vogo is one of the popular shared mobility companies in India.

Talking about the fare, BEST says that the basic fare for these electric scooters is Rs 20. After this, the user will have to pay Rs 3 per kilometer and Rs 1.50 per minute. A special app has to be used to use the scooter. After payment, the scooter can be unlocked and driven.

The speed limit of these electric scooters is 25 kilometers per hour. This makes them safe to drive in congested areas in the city. The low speed means that the rider does not need to have a driving license to drive them, so that people of all ages can drive it.<!–
