New Delhi: India gave one to one batsman to the world of cricket. But no one was able to do one thing for years. This work was done by India’s opener in 2004 Virender Sehwag executed. This work was to score a triple century in the Test. Sehwag is the first Indian batsman to score a triple century in Tests. Sehwag has done this work not once but twice, but for the first time this stormy batsman did this work on this day i.e. March 29 in 2004. Sehwag hit this triple century against Pakistan in Multan.
But before this triple century, Sehwag was afraid that the team management might drop him from the team. Sehwag still batted in his style without any fear and created history by taking the news of Pakistani bowlers fiercely in Multan. The match started on March 28 and Sehwag touched the figure of 300 on the second day of the match.

This is how the triple century was hit
In this match, Indian team captain Rahul Dravid decided to bat first after winning the toss. India ended the first day with 356 runs at the loss of two wickets. By the end of the day’s play, Sehwag returned unbeaten after scoring 228 and Sachin 60 runs. India had lost the wickets of opener Akash Chopra (42) and captain Rahul Dravid (6). After this, Sehwag and Sachin took over the team and brought it to a strong position.
After lunch on the second day, Sehwag completed his 300 runs by hitting Pakistan’s veteran off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq for a six and created history. After this, he was dismissed after adding nine more runs to his account. Sehwag faced 375 balls in this match and hit 39 fours and six sixes. With this, the record of the highest score in an innings of Test for India was recorded in Sehwag’s name, which was earlier in the name of VVS Laxman. Laxman scored 281 runs against Australia in Kolkata Test.

This is the same match in which Rahul Dravid did not allow Sachin to complete his double century and when he was on 194, Rahul declared India’s first innings. Sachin returned unbeaten after scoring 194 runs in 348 balls with the help of 21 fours. India had declared the first innings at 675 runs losing five wickets. Yuvraj Singh scored an unbeaten 59 in the first innings of this match. Pakistan had faced this score well and scored 407 runs in the first innings. But he had to play the follow-on. The host team was able to score only 216 runs in the second innings. With this, India won this match by an innings and 52 runs.
Sehwag did not score runs in four innings
This innings of Sehwag is one of his favorite innings. Sehwag had said on Star Sports before Asia Cup-2022 that his innings of 309 runs in Multan India And the best memory is in the matches played between Pakistan. He had said that before this match, he had not scored many runs in four innings and hence he was afraid that the team management might drop him. After the innings Sehwag played in Multan, his place was confirmed in the team and he remained the opener of the team for a long time. Sehwag is counted among India’s best openers.
