The four-match Test series between India and Australia is going to start from 9 February. The fans are eagerly waiting for this series, so the players are also eager to play in it. However, not everyone will get this chance. One of them is Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who is disappointed to have missed this opportunity.
Australia’s star all-rounder Maxwell injured his leg after slipping at a friend’s birthday party after the T20 World Cup in November. Since then he has been away from the cricket field and could not even come on the tour of India.
Although Maxwell is not a regular part of the Test team, but still the injury took away the possibility of return and he is disappointed. Maxwell said during commentary in the ‘Big Bash League’ match, “Maybe it will cost me my whole life.”
Describing his team as strong, Maxwell said, “It is good to have the opportunity to watch my teammates play, especially (in India). I think they have got the team which is the best for India tour.
Maxwell’s career in Test cricket is not very long and he has played only 7 matches but his only Test century is against India. The last time in 2017, Maxwell played an inning of 104 runs in the Ranchi Test for the Australian team that toured India. Although Maxwell can return for the ODI series. (BCCI)
