Gautam Gambhir made a big statement about Krunal and Hooda

Gautam Gambhir: Former Indian team opener Gautam Gambhir IPL 2022 I have been made the mentor of the new franchise Lucknow Super Giants. During the auction, the team has made very good bids and has included more than one person in its team. Although Baroda’s Deepka Hooda and Krunal Pandya are also playing for Lucknow in this year’s IPL. Both were running into a lot of controversy some time back. Hooda had also accused Baroda captain Krunal Pandya of misbehaving with him.

Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya will play together in IPL

In IPL Mega Auction 2022, Lucknow Super Giants bought Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya for 5.75 crores and 8.25 crores respectively. When the names of these two players were seen in the same squad, everyone was quite surprised. Because these two players do not get along well with each other, Deepak had also withdrawn his name from his state team Baroda.

In such a situation, seeing the names of both the players together, the spectators are speculating that if both of them play together in the playing-11, then it can affect the game of Lucknow. Also, both these all-rounders bat in the middle order, so they can be seen batting together in IPL 2022. However, the team’s mentor Gautam Gambhir has some different views on this whole matter.

Gautam Gambhir gave his reaction on Deepak-Krunal

Gautam Gambhir

Former Indian team legend Gautam Gambhir believes that you do not need to be good friends to do well for the team. Along with this, he has also shared his experience regarding this matter. Gautam Gambhir, mentor of Lucknow Super Giants, told Sportskeeda about Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya that,

“Look, you don’t have to be good friends off the field to perform. He is a professional cricketer and he knows what he has to do. If you’re playing in the same team, you don’t need to go out for dinner every night. I am not friendly with everyone in every team I have played in, but when I am on the field, no one stops me from giving my best. These are mature people and they know where to win matches for Lucknow.”

However, in IPL 2022, the first match of Lucknow Super Giants is against Gujarat Titans on 28 March.
