Cigarette maker Godfrey Phillips India Limited on Saturday reported a growth of 9.07 per cent in its profit for the January-March quarter of 2021-22. The company’s profit has increased by Rs 95.24 crore to Rs 103.88 crore during the quarter. The company’s total income during the quarter grew by 2.84 per cent to Rs 877.77 crore as against Rs 853.48 crore in the corresponding period of last fiscal. At the same time, the total expenses of the company reached Rs 737.72 crore, which was at the level of Rs 727.61 crore in the same quarter last year. Its revenue from cigarettes, tobacco and related products grew by 2.61 per cent to Rs 769.10 crore, from Rs 749.51 crore a year ago. While revenue from retail and related products declined marginally to Rs 83.20 crore, from Rs 83.52 crore in the fourth quarter of the previous fiscal. At the same time, Godfrey Phillips India’s net profit for the financial year ended March 2022 increased by 16.20 percent to Rs 438.06 crore. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 376.98 crore in the last financial year.
