In the international market, gold is trading lower at $ 1,800 an ounce. Whereas, silver remained flat at $ 22.34 an ounce. Tapan Patel, Senior Analyst (Commodities) at HDFC Securities said that gold prices are trading in tandem with spot gold prices on Comax Trading. It was trading at $ 1,800 an ounce on Thursday with a fall of half a percent. He further said that gold prices are trading under pressure. The reason behind this is the signal of the US Fed to raise the main interest rates sooner than expected.

Navneet Damani, VP Commodities Research at Motilal Oswal Financial Services said that gold prices have slipped down leaving the previous rally behind. This is because US bond yields jumped minutes after the last Federal Reserve meeting. In this, there has been a signal about the increase in rates in this year.

Prices in futures trade

In futures trade, gold prices fell by Rs 435 to Rs 47,586 per 10 grams on Thursday. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, contracts for February delivery were trading higher by Rs 435, or 0.91 per cent, at Rs 47,586 per 10 grams. This is for a business turnover of 7,837 lots.

On the other hand, silver prices fell by Rs 1,714 to Rs 60,524 per kg in futures trade. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for December delivery fell by Rs 1,714, or 2.75 per cent, to Rs 60,524 per kg. These prices are in business turnover of 15,835 lots.

Prices in Mumbai and Kolkata

At the same time, the price of gold in Kolkata, the capital and metropolis of West Bengal, is Rs 48,450 per 10 grams. At the same time, silver can be bought in this city for Rs 61,000 per kg.
