According to the data, the sales of houses in these seven cities have increased to 2,72,709 units during January-September this year from 1,45,651 units in the same period last year. The January-September figure in this calendar year has been higher than the 2,61,358 units sold during the entire 2019. At the same time, due to the lockdown due to the epidemic, the sale of houses in the year 2020 was reduced to 1,38,344 units.

Benefit of reduction in stamp duty in some states

According to the report, India’s primary housing market has improved due to incentives given by some state governments, including Maharashtra, in the form of lower stamp duty last year. Due to these reasons, the sale of houses has increased to 2,36,516 units in the year 2021 and this year it has maintained the momentum.

According to Anarock data, sales of residential properties in Delhi-NCR more than doubled to 49,138 units in January-September. It was 22,478 units in the same period a year ago. Apart from this, the sales in MMR has increased by 67 percent to 81,315 units from 48,716 units.

At the same time, let us tell you that according to a report by housing brokerage company PropTiger.com, despite the increase in property prices and increase in interest rates, the demand for homes in eight major cities of the country remains strong. The report said that during the July-September period, home sales in these eight major cities grew by 49 per cent year-on-year to 83,220 units.
