Google will lock video game service Stadia, users will get refund

Google, one of the top technology companies, has decided to shut down its cloud video game service, Stadia. It was started about three years ago. This allowed people to play console quality games as easily as emailing. However, there was a weak response from the users.

Because of this, we have decided to discontinue our Stadia streaming service.” The company said that it will refund the amount of hardware and game content purchased for this. Users will have access to this service till January 18 next year. Michael Pachter, analyst at Wedbush Securities, said: “The company had a good idea but a bad business model. They offered the service as a subscription without games.” He told that in comparison to this, Microsoft, which made Xbox, had started Game Pass service with many games, which was a good option for the players.

Game Pass has around 25 million subscribers, while Stadia has a little over nine lakh users. Microsoft is the largest company in the video game segment. Recently, the popular video streaming site YouTube, owned by Google, has started a new way of paying more money from YouTube Shorts to benefit the creators. Its purpose is to compete with TikTok. YouTube said that it will start advertising on its Shorts video feature and will give 45 percent of the revenue to video creators.

YouTube is getting tough competition from TikTok for the last few years. This app has about one billion monthly users. In the competition of Tiktok, about two years ago, YouTube started the Shorts feature with videos up to one minute. It has more than 1.5 billion monthly users. YouTube The new plan to share key revenue is huge and it will be difficult for Tiktok to compete with it.
