The last date to apply for National Means cum Merit Scholarship has been extended. The candidates who have not been able to apply for this scholarship till now can apply by visiting the official website- dsel.education.gov.in or scholarships.gov.in. National Income cum Merit NMMSS Scholarship The last date to apply for the year 2022-23 has been extended till October 15. This information has been given by the Ministry of Education.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Education, the objective of the National Means cum Merit Scholarship is to prevent the drop out of meritorious students from economically weaker sections at the class VIII level. Also, to encourage such students to continue their studies at the secondary level.
It states that one lakh scholarships are provided to the selected students every year from class IX. This scholarship is provided to the students of class IX to XII studying in state government, government aided and local bodies schools to support them in continuing their studies. Under this, a scholarship of Rs 12,000 is given every year.
According to the Ministry of Education, the scholarship amount is sent directly to the students selected under the NMMSS Scholarship in their bank account. This scholarship is a 100% scheme given by the central government. Guidelines have been issued by the ministry in this regard. Follow the steps given below to apply for this scholarship.

- Click on the link of Latest Updates on the home page of the website.
- After this go to the link of National Means-cum-merit Scholarship Scheme.
- Now register by filling the details asked on the next page.
- After registration fill the application form.
This scholarship scheme was started in the year 2008 by the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. 12000 per annum in this Scholarship Is given.
