New Delhi. Hardik Singh and Savita Poonia Has been selected as the best Indian hockey player of the year. Hockey India selected midfielder Hardik Mans and goalkeeper Savita as the country’s best hockey player in the women’s category. Hardik won the 5th Balbir Singh Senior Award by defeating Manpreet Singh and Harmanpreet Singh. He did amazing performance in this year’s World Cup. However, he could not play further due to a hamstring injury.
India got a 2-0 win over Spain in the first match, in which he scored a goal. On the other hand, if we talk about Savita, under her captaincy, India won the Nations Cup and entered the Women’s Pro League. Along with the trophy, Hardik and Savita were given Rs 25 lakh each.

Lifetime Achievement Award to Gurbaksh and Amit
Hockey India also gave the 2021 awards. Actually, due to Corona virus, the ceremony was not organized at that time. Major Dhyanchand Lifetime Achievement Award has been awarded to Gurbaksh Singh, who was a member of the Indian team that won gold in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Whereas Amit Singh Bakshi was given this award for 2021. Amit was a member of the gold medalist Indian team of the 1956 Melbourne Olympics.

Dhanraj Pillai Award to Vandana
Hockey India Current captain Harmanpreet Singh was selected as the best defender of 2022 in the award. The best goalkeeper of 2022 Krishna B Pathak was selected and the best female midfielder Sushila Chanu was selected. Whereas Vandana Kataria has been awarded the Dhanraj Pillai Award for Best Forward.
