Harshal Patel made a big disclosure
Harshal Patel, playing for RCB in IPL 2021, captured the Purple Cap by taking a total of 32 wickets. After which, apart from RCB, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) also showed great interest in this auction. But in the end, RCB was successful in getting this champion bowler back with them. Harshal looked quite happy after joining back with RCB. In a conversation with Star Sports, he told why he was released by RCB. They said,
RCB management told me that if we retain you, you will get 6 crores and 9 crores will be deducted from our purse and we do not want this. We want you to earn this money in auction and we will try to buy you again. Same thing happened with my RCB,

In such a situation, as a captaincy option, he has the retained Glenn Maxwell and Faf du Plessis bought during the auction. When Harshal Patel was asked questions regarding the captaincy of the team, he replied saying,
I have not spoken on the captain issue yet but I think Faf du Plessis is a great captain. He has led South Africa. He is a big contender for the captaincy.
