Hyundai’s Ioniq 5 EV ready to enter India soon, bookings will start next month

Sales of electric cars are increasing rapidly in the country. Many automobile companies are launching their Electric Vehicles (EV). Hyundai has told that it will start booking its Ioniq 5 EV from 20 December. This electric car of the company is based on e-GMP architecture.

In many western countries its already sales Its being done. Abroad it is available in two battery packs. One has a capacity of 58 kWh and the other has a capacity of 72.6 kWh. The company claims that out of these, the small battery pack gives a range of around 385 and the large battery pack gives a range of around 480 km. Its battery can be charged in 18 minutes with a 350 kW DC charger. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 features a 12.3-inch touchscreen main display and a 12.3-inch driver’s display with wireless phone charging. This EV will compete with Kia EV6 and Volvo XC40.

The company has not told whether it will be launched in the country with both the battery packs. The powertrain of this electric car can generate power of 301bhp. Its top speed is 185 kmph. It has two electric motor layouts, one with only rear motor and the other with rear and front motor option. The rear motor variant of the SUV is also equipped with an electric all wheel drive system. Passenger Vehicles (PV) sales in the country may set a record in FY2023 with 37-38 lakh units. This will be a growth of 21-24 percent compared to the previous financial year. Easing of supply chain constraints and increasing capacity utilization over the past few quarters should help automobile companies meet demand.

Some automobile companies have made preparations to increase the production of Electric Vehicles (EV). Tata Motors included in the big automobile companies EV Planned to increase growth through segments. Recently the company has achieved the milestone of producing 50,000 electric vehicles. Tata Motors plans to launch 10 EVs in the next five years. The company believes that the people of the country are taking interest in electric vehicles. These vehicles offer a solution to problems like rising fuel prices and pollution.
