He has said in an interview, “I did not want to insult anyone. I had no intention of causing trouble to those people who have gone through that ordeal and their relatives. If he has been hurt by my comment, then I sincerely apologise.”

However, Nadav Lapid still stands by his statement. He says- Whatever I said and I said clearly that for me and my fellow jury members, it was a vulgar propaganda film and it was out of place and inappropriate for such a prestigious competitive stream. i can repeat this over and over
