The second phase of IPL 2021 will start from 19th September. The UAE leg is about to begin with the match between (MI) and Chennai Super Kings. Fans are very excited for this. Now former England cricket team captain Kevin Pietersen has advised Mumbai. He says that if the Mumbai team makes a slow start in the UAE, then it has to bear the brunt.
Mumbai may have a slow start
Mumbai Indians (MI) is the most successful franchise in IPL history. She has won 5 trophies so far and this time she will take the field with a target of winning the sixth trophy. But before this, former England captain Kevin Pietersen has advised Rohit Sharma’s team. Peterson wrote in his blog on ‘Betway.com’,
“Everyone would expect the defending Mumbai Indians to do well in the tournament but they do not have a history of being on top from the start. They lose a few matches first and then come back after doing well at the end of the tournament. But now we are already towards the end of the tournament. Mumbai team cannot afford to lose three or four matches as there will be little time to come back. If they want to defend their title, they will have to build pressure from the first ball itself. It is clear that given their talents, they are capable of doing this as well.”
CSK surprised by performance in IPL 2021
After a bad season of IPL 2020, Chennai Super Kings made a great comeback this season. The franchise holds the second position in the points table by winning 5 matches in 7 matches played. Kevin Pietersen says CSK surprised everyone with their performance. they wrote,
“Everyone had taken the ‘Old Boys Army’ of Chennai Super Kings as a failure even before the start of the IPL in April so it was a bit surprising to see them doing well. Their overseas players Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali and Sam Karen did well. But I don’t know what would have affected them in these four months. It may take some time for him to return to form, especially the older players. If they are ready then these few weeks will be historic for the franchise. They have a great chance to win a title that everyone thought was out of their reach.”
MI vs CSK face to face
The first phase of IPL 2021 was held in India. But due to Corona virus, the league was postponed midway and only 29 matches could be played. But now the remaining 31 matches of the leagueare to be played in. The first match between Rohit Sharma (MI) and Chennai Super Kings will be played in the UAE leg starting from 19th September.
