Indian team leads 2-1 in series against England
Indian team captain Rohit Sharma was found infected with corona during the practice match played before the Edgbaston Test.
Team India captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the Edgbaston Test against England to be played from Friday. Rohit underwent an antigen test on Thursday in which he was again found corona infected. In his place, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah will take charge of the team, while wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been made the vice-captain. When India went to England last year, it was to play a five-Test series. However, only four matches of the series were played. The fifth and last match of Corona was postponed. This match will now be played from July 1.
India lead 2-1 in the series
The first test match played in Nottingham ended in a draw. After this the next test match was played in London where India won by 151 runs. In the third match played in Leeds, England came back and won by 76 runs. India were in very good shape and they also won in London by 157 runs. After four matches, the Indian team was 2-1 ahead in the series. After this, the star players of Team India were hit by Corona and the fifth match was drawn.
