India Vs Japan Asia Cup 2022

Ind vs Jap Hockey Team Highlights: The Indian team had to work to a 1-1 draw against Pakistan in their very first match of Pool A.

The Asia Cup 2022 is not going well for the Indian hockey team. After being forced to play a draw against Pakistan in the first match, Team India had to face a crushing defeat against Japan in their second match. Japan, being held in Jakarta, defeated the defending champions of Asia Cup India by a huge margin of 5-2. Asian Games 2018 gold medalist Japan had taken the first lead in the match and did not let India get even once. With this defeat, it has become difficult for India to reach the semi-finals.

In the beginning of this match, there was an equal competition from both the sides and neither team got success in scoring the goal. Some good opportunities were also missed, due to which the first quarter ended without a goal. It was a similar start in the second quarter as well, but Japan took the lead in the 24th minute of the match by converting a penalty corner. Japan made many attacks even after this, but the Indian team stopped them. However, Team India itself could not score any goal and the second quarter went 1-0 in favor of Japan.

The match started with intense action, towards the end of the third quarter, where goals started pouring in within the next few minutes. Japan doubled their lead in this quarter on the basis of a fine field goal, but just seconds before the end of the quarter, ie in the 45th minute, India scored the first goal. For Team India, this goal came from the stick of Pawan Rajbhar.

The start of the last quarter was even stronger and within 5 minutes two more goals were scored. Japan started it and scored a good goal, easily thumping the Indian defenders and goalkeeper. Two minutes later, India reduced the lead by scoring in the 50th minute and brought the scoreline to 2-3.
