Railway Jobs: They will not be recruited in future. The number of posts is also decreasing due to outsourcing in railways. Railway Board has asked to abolish 81 thousand additional posts of all zonal railways in the country.

As per the official documents, these are all Group C and D posts which are over due to technology and have decided not to recruit these posts in future. However, the employees currently working in these posts are likely to be accommodated in different departments of the Railways.
Officials said that a decision had to be taken to abolish these posts because now the operation of the Railways has become modern and digital. During the financial year 2015-16 to 2020-21 in 16 zones of railways, 56,888 non-essential posts were abolished. According to the proposal, 15,495 more posts are to be abolished.
Northern and Southern Railway abolished so many posts
Northern Railway eliminated more than 9,000 posts, while South Eastern Railway eliminated about 4,677 posts. Southern Railway has abolished 7,524 and Eastern Railway has abolished more than 5,700 posts.
Sources said a study performance of employees for the financial year 2021-22, which determines whether a certain position has been exhausted or not, is in the final stages. It is expected that around 9,000 more posts will be surrendered after the completion of the process.
Posts also decreased due to outsourcing
The number of sanctioned posts in Railways is also decreasing due to outsourcing. The workforce of the Railways has been a burden for the transporter both in terms of salary and pension. The transporter has to spend one-third of his total income on salary and pension. It currently spends 37 paise for every rupee earned on workers’ wages and 16 paise on pensions.
Kosli-Delhi Express Inauguration Special Rail Service Operation
For the convenience of the passengers by the Railways, Train No. 14733, Shriganganagar-Rewari Express, Train No. 54416, Rewari-Delhi Passenger Train and Train No. 04436, Meerut Cantt-Rewari, Train No. 14734, Rewari-Sriganganagar Express will integrate the service to Sri Ganganagar. Delhi-Sriganganagar Express will be operated as a rail service.
According to Captain Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of North Western Railway, Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma, Hon’ble MP-Rohtak will flag off train number 04733, Kosli-Delhi Express inaugural special train service on 12.05.22. This train service will leave Kosli at 11.30 hrs and reach Delhi station at 15.40 hrs.
