IndiGo airline swung into action soon after DGCA’s strictness, 71% flights started flying on time

Just after this, 71.8% of IndiGo’s flights flew on time on Sunday, while the percentage of flight on time on Saturday, just a day before, was just 45.2%. OTP or Ontime Performance is a technical term for airlines that shows which airline follows the rules of flight on time. IndiGo’s OTP has seen an improvement of 32.9% on Sunday. The main reason for this is the notice of DGCI, in which a reply was sought regarding the delayed flight.

If you look at the OTP of other airline companies on Sunday, then the OTP of Mumbai-based company Go First was 97.09 percent, Air Asia’s 95.6%, Vistara’s 93.3%. It was followed by SpiceJet with an OTP of 90.1% and Air India at 86.4%. OTP shows how many on-time flights of an airline are flying. A major complaint was received about IndiGo and it was said that the company’s staff did not come together on duty, due to which many flights were delayed. Taking cognizance of this, DGCI issued a notice to IndiGo and summoned its response.

There was a severe shortage of crew in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Bangalore and Air India started interviews at these places. As a result, IndiGo operates a total of 1600 flights, but only 728 flights were able to take off on Saturday. In comparison, a big improvement was seen on Sunday, the day the DGCI issued the notice. IndiGo flight 1149 remained on the flight on Sunday, that too with the exact timing.
