The Indian team will leave for England on 15 June where the Test match will be played at Edgbaston from 1 July.

Ashwin will try himself in state cricket

Ashwin has decided to play for MRC A in the TNCA First Class Semi-Finals and Finals. In IPL, he was in the Rajasthan Royals team which reached the final. Describing this, Ashwin said,

“The aim of playing first class matches is to move from T20 to red ball format. It’s all a matter of workload management. You get smarter with age and experience. I am trying to do the same. I am enjoying my game and want to do the same in England. I think I can contribute with bat and ball. I want to keep my fitness strong.”

Ashwin has 442 wickets to his name. He recently overtook Kapil Dev during the Test series against Sri Lanka. Talking about his game, Ashwin said, I have worked very hard on my game and I think a lot. I am happy with my game and don’t aim too far ahead.

Will you get a chance in England this time?

This England tour is special for Ashwin. The last match of the Test series played last year was postponed, which will now be played from July 1. In the first four matches of that series, Ashwin was not given a chance in the playing XI. In such a situation, Ashwin will hope that he will be given a chance in the last Test.
