Sunrisers Hyderabad young bowler Umran Malik (Umraan Malik) has impressed a lot with his bowling. His speed and match-by-match performance have been successful in garnering praise from many people. He has proved to be a trump card for his team in IPL-2022. He takes wickets when the team needs them. The team of Sunrisers Hyderabad landed against Mumbai Indians on Tuesday. In this match too, Umran played an important role in winning the team with his superb bowling. Umran took three wickets in this match and Sunrisers kept the playoff hopes alive by winning the match by three runs.

With these three wickets, Umran has taken 23 wickets in the current season of IPL and has come at number four in the Purple Cap race. With this, he has made a record in his name. He has become the youngest Indian bowler to take 20 or more wickets in a season of IPL. He has behind Jasprit Bumrah in this matter. Umran did this work at the age of 22 years 176 days while Bumrah took more than 20 wickets in an IPL season in 2017 at the age of 23 years 165 days. After these two are the names of RP Singh and Pragyan Ojha. RP Singh did this in 2009 at the age of 23 years 166 days and Pragyan in 2010 at the age of 23 years 225 days.

Sri Lankan bowlers impressed

Umran impressed many with his performance this season and one of them is former Sri Lankan fast bowler Chaminda Vaas. Vaas said that Umran Malik will become the best bowler for India. Malik has regularly bowled at a speed of more than 150 kmph in IPL-2022.

“I think he (Umran) is getting better day by day and I saw him play in the last IPL as well. He has been bowling consistently well and it is very important to bowl accurately in T20s. He will be a great bowler for India. If India gives him a chance, he (Jasprit) will make a good pair with Bumrah, I think so.”

Indian system appreciated

Former left-arm fast bowler Vaas, who took 355 wickets in 111 Tests for Sri Lanka, is in the city to coach the kids of Mumbai Cricket Club. Young fast bowlers like Mukesh Choudhary, Arshdeep Singh, Umran, Avesh Khan, Mohsin Khan are emerging in the IPL and the 48-year-old Vaas attributed this to India’s good first-class structure.
