Playing 89 balls in cricket is not a big deal. But, it is a big deal to keep raining with the bat for 89 minutes. And, something similar was done at the age of 21, not by a relative of the former Pakistan captain, but by a cousin brother. We are talking about his cousin Majid Khan who is older than Imran Khan. And, today this discussion is necessary because he was born 76 years ago in the year 1946, on the same day of 28 September.

Born in the Indian city of Ludhiana in 1946, Majid was 21 years old in 1967, when the Pakistan team that toured England played a Test match against the county team Glamorgan there. Majid was also included in the playing XI of that Pakistani team.

The match played between Pakistan and Glamorgan in August 1967 was a draw, in which Majid Khan's role was important. In the first innings, he could score only 37 runs, but in the second innings, he batted for 89 minutes. In the second innings of that match, Majid scored 147 runs in 89 minutes with the help of 13 sixes and 10 fours. In this innings, 5 sixes were hit by Majid in just one over.

Majid Khan also wanted to become a fast bowler like his father Jahangir Khan. But the back injury did not allow his intention to materialise. And he remained a batsman who used to put a little bit of off-spin as well.

Majid Khan is the cousin of former Pakistan captain and Prime Minister Imran Khan. It is said that when Imran became the captain of Pakistan, he had a big role in getting Majid out of the team. Because of this, the relationship between the two also soured.
