Jammu and Kashmir closed all schools, colleges and other educational institutions till May 31

Jammu Kashmir Schools, Colleges Closed: In view of the increasing COVID-19 cases, Jammu and Kashmir has closed all state educational institutions till May 31. As part of the new restrictions, all schools, colleges, universities, technical or skill development institutes in the state will remain closed. “All schools, colleges, universities, technical and skill development institutes will be closed in Jammu and Kashmir till May 31,” ANI quoted the Jammu and Kashmir government as saying.

Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha held a meeting to review the status of COVID-19 in the state, in which the decision to close the educational institutions of the state was taken. Teachers and students of various schools were found to be Corona positive, after which the government decided to close the educational institutions. Colleges were already allowed to hold online classes.

The Jammu and Kashmir administration has ordered suspension of physical classes by all private educational and coaching institutes. However, coaching and other private educational institutions have been given the freedom to provide online classes.

Let us tell you that last month, Jammu and Kashmir School Education Board (J&K School Education Board) ordered to postpone the final examination of class 11 till further notice due to increasing COVID-19 cases on daily basis. Earlier, JKBOSE had announced the cancellation of Class 10 board exam and postponement of class 12 board examinations. The students of class 10 will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment and their performance in the pre-conducted board examination.
