Jio-Bp will build charging stations in these 12 cities of North India for Electric Vehicles (EVs)

Reliance Industries and Supermajor Bp have teamed up to take the Electric Vehicle (EV) charging facility to the next level in North India. Both the companies have signed an agreement under Jio-Bp joint venture and they will set up EV charging stations in 12 cities of North India. These charging stations will be installed at properties of real estate developer Omaxe. With this, in the coming time, doorstep facilities for EVs will be provided to the users.

In a statement to the media, the companies said that Omaxe will be their partner in this venture to create a battery charging ecosystem for electric vehicles in North India.

Jio-Bp will set up EV charging and swapping infrastructure at various Omaxe properties in Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, New Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Patiala, Amritsar, Jaipur, Sonipat and Bahadurgarh in a phased manner,” the companies said.

Electric vehicles run on electric power which draws power from rechargeable batteries. Presently the number of such vehicles is increasing rapidly and it is expected to increase more rapidly in the coming time. Charging stations will be required to charge these batteries, whose demand is going to increase rapidly in the coming times. This partnership of Geo-BP will make it available commercially.

The media statement given by the companies said that Jio-Bp will install 24×7 EV charging infrastructure for two-wheeler and four-wheeler charging at Omaxe properties. Jio-BP was built last year and has built two of the largest EV charging hubs in India.

The EV services of the companies’ joint ventures work under the Jio-Bp Pulse brand. With the Jio-Bp Pulse mobile app, users can easily find charging stations nearby and charge their electric vehicles with ease.

Over the last 34 years, Omaxe has made a strong presence in North and Central India. The company has provided a wide range of real estate projects which include integrated township, office, mall and high street projects.
