Kisan Rail: 546 Kisan Rail transported 1.77 lakh tonnes of agricultural products, milk reached Delhi with 7.77 crore liters of milk Duronto

According to the Railways, new lines of 25 km of South Central Railway’s rail network have been constructed. With this, the work of 120.5 km double line was completed. At the same time, 82 km of work was completed on the third line.

TCAS extended to 948 kms

With a view to decongest the major junctions and provide safe, comfortable rail travel without roadblocks, South Central Railway has undertaken various capacity building works by using the latest technological advancements, which have helped in reducing the running time of trains. Will help in increasing the throughput. Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) has been extended to 948 kms covering 92 locations in this zone.

Milk Duronto transported 13 crore liters of milk

Along with this Doodh Duronto which is a milk special train, which was started during the lockdown period by South Central Railway from Renigunta in Andhra Pradesh to meet the supply of milk in the national capital. During the year 2021, about 7.77 crore liters of milk was transported from Renigunta to Hazrat Nizamuddin, taking the total milk movement to over 130 crore liters.

South Central Railway runs 546 Kisan Rail

In order to help the farmers and boost the income of farming community, Government of India launched Kisan Rail concept to transport agricultural products to national markets at concessional tariff (50% of regular tariff) to get better price. Was. After which this zone has given special emphasis on running Kisan Rail. In the last one year, a total of 1.77 lakh tonnes of agricultural products were transported from different stations of the zone through 546 Kisan Rails. South Central Railway operates Kisan Rail from three states under its jurisdiction- Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.
